Here at Nexus, our passion is sealcoating. We've spent a lot of time learning all sorts of different techniques and perfecting our own. We are our own biggest critic, we would never do anything to your pavement that we wouldn't do to our own, you're in good hands.
Sealcoating remains the most cost-effective way to not only beautify but to also maintain the good health of your asphalt. The sealant provides a protective layer between your driveway and outside elements. It doesn't just sit on top of your asphalt, it helps keep the top layer of aggregate bonded together.
Filling the cracks in your pavement is equally as important as sealcoating it. We use a liquidized rubber that is heated to 350 degrees then pushed into the crack and flattened using a "V" squeegee, creating a water-tight seal. The rubber then hardens as it cools but maintains its elasticity, giving it the ability to move with your pavement.
If you choose Nexus to pave a new driveway or patch your existing asphalt we will:
• - Saw cut around specified section, then remove the problem area.
• - Level the sub grade, installing & compacting 5-10" of 21AA stone wherever necessary.
• - Install 4-5" of fresh "5E" commercial grade asphalt in multiple layers to ensure it reaches the correct density.
• - Apply tack coat in between layers of asphalt to help with adhesion.
• - Guarantee asphalt is compacted satisfactory using a vibratory asphalt roller (or plate compactor for hard to reach areas).
Nexus will never leave a job site looking messy, we guarantee to clean up all job related debris and provide barricades to areas where work was performed for the duration of the curing time.
"Mastic" is a type of asphalt repair that lands somewhere in the middle between crack sealing and asphalt patching. It is a very cost-effective alternative to replacing or patching. Mastic is the perfect option if you have large transverse or longitudinal cracks or potholes that are too big to fill with traditional crack sealants.
Mastic is polymer modified asphalt binder mixed with an aggregate. We apply it at 300 degrees as a liquid, when the mixture cools it hardens to a repair much stronger than crack sealants and more reliable than cold patch. Another great benefit of this material is that traffic can be re-introduced typically within 30 - 60 minutes after work is performed, which makes it great for commercial uses.
Freeze and thaw cycles can cause cracking and after years of use, playing on the court can scuff the grit off of the surface, leaving it slick. We offer a number of repairs for outdoor recreational surfaces, such as acrylic crack sealing, re-painting and resurfacing. Acrylic crack sealant is typically used on these surfaces. It contains silica sand, helping it replicate the texture of the original court surface, Our resurfacing material begins with a "texture coat" that is 100% acrylic. It is mixed with a generous amount of angular cut silica sand to fill voids and add texture.
Please feel free to give us a call to ask us more about our recreational surface repair options, we would love to hear from you!
